Greetings Riding for the Disabled Association, here is your latest EasyGrants newsletter (attached), with your monthly dose of the most relevant and up-to-date grants to help your organisation, Funding Centre news, tips on how not to lose members, and information about deductible gift recipient (DGR) status. 

Grant of the month

nib foundation’s Health Smart Grants  <https://www.fundingcentre.com.au/grant/G09203?utm_campaign=ongoing&utm_medium=email&utm_source=fundingcentre.com.au> 

nib foundation is offering six grants of $40,000 to charities working to improve health literacy and information, and a further $40,000 to two ‘Peoples’ Vote’ winners. 

The foundation prioritises preventative measures such as: 

*         reducing smoking and harmful drinking 

*         maintaining a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and diet 

*         raising awareness about the important of good mental health practices 

*         promoting the importance of sleep as a protective health factor 

Registered charities with DGR status and income tax exemption are eligible to apply. 

Applications open Thursday, 1 August and EOIs close Friday, 30 August.

The laws governing deductible gift recipient status are complicated. 

Who can and cannot be a DGR is defined by tax law – with only certain types of organisations eligible.
