News

JobKeeper Payment scheme extended, scaled back

The Federal Government's decision to extend the JobKeeper Payment scheme has been welcomed by many in the community sector, however plans to scale payments back from September have been criticised. ACOSS CEO Dr Cassandra Goldie <https://www.acoss.org.au/media_release/millions-face-income-losses-as-jobseeker-supplement-reduced-and-anxiety-about-future-remains/>  described the reduction in payments as "of concern" and the Government's approach ignores repeated calls by the Charities Crisis Cabinet <https://www.communitycouncil.com.au/content/charities-crisis-cabinet>  for a "ramp not a cliff" when transitioning support services.

Second phase of the Coronavirus SME Guarantee Scheme to start on 1 October

The initial phase of the Coronavirus SME Guarantee Scheme in which the Government is guaranteeing 50% of new loans issued by eligible lenders to SMEs including sole traders and not-for-profits remains available until 30 September 2020. The second phase of the Scheme opens 1 October 2020 and will be available until 30 June 2021. Details will be finalised in coming weeks. Regional Arts receives a funding boost

It's big news for regional arts organisations with the establishment of the Regional Arts Fund (RAF) Recovery Boost. The Recovery Boost is a $10 million Australian Government measure which responds to the difficulties experienced by regional artists, arts organisations and communities who have been heavily impacted by COVID-19.

Three streams of funding are available through the program: Relief, Recovery and Renewal. The program is being administered by the relevant state or territory regional program administrator. Continue reading below for the latest batch of user-requested improvements made to the Funding Centre. 

Add grants to your dashboard with one click

Stay on track with your grant search by adding grants to your dashboard with one click. You can now add grants to your dashboard from the grant search page and continue with your search without being taken to the manage grant page. Skip to the first and last pages of a grant search

For those times when you've cast your grants search net a little too wide. Now, you can skip to the first and last pages of your search results. This feature is useful for when a grant search brings up a lot of results and you want to apply different filters.

Nickname field replaced with Project title

You can now designate grants to projects. Use the previously named nickname field to now assign a project title to your grants. Assign multiple grants the same project title and sort your dashboard list to find them at a glance. The auto-fill functionality remembers project titles used previously so you don't have to. 

Program Provider and Grant Round fields merged

We've merged Program Provider and Grant Round fields into one column. This will allow for the introduction of new user-requested fields in the grants table (stayed tuned!).

Hyperlink removed from Program Provider 

We've removed the hyperlink function from the program provider field and added it to the grant round field, which makes more sense when searching for and managing your dashboard grants.

Addition of Reviewed – not applying application status

This was another user request for a status to assign to grants that have been reviewed but not applied for at a particular time. We anticipate that this improvement will save you time and avoid repeat searches. 

Navigation panel now sticks to the page

When your cursor hovers over a menu item, only the description text pops out instead of the whole navigation bar. 

iCal button on Calendar page, switch between calendar and grants list view

We've moved the iCal button to the top of the Calendar page. Connect your Funding Centre grants calendar to your external calendar, including Outlook, Google Calendar or Apple meaning you never miss a deadline. 

We've also added a Dashboard link to the calendar page so you can easily switch between calendar and grant list view.
