Office of Sport - Grants update

As you may have seen or read from recent media and communications, the Office of Sport has a range of Grant Funding Programs currently open for the Sport and Recreation sector to apply for. Listed below are all the available opportunities and we encourage you to review them, determine your eligibility and apply where relevant. 

Each grant program is different, however eligible applicants may include:  

*	State Sporting Organisations 
*	Incorporated, not-for-profit grassroots sport clubs 
*	Councils and Regional Joint Organisations of councils 
*	Organisations providing sport and recreation programs that benefit the community.

Local Sport Grant Program

Sport and active recreation are part of the fabric of NSW and play a vital role in bringing communities together. The Local Sport Grant Program aims to support grassroots sporting clubs to increase participation, host events, improve access and enhance sport and recreation facilities.  

Up to $4.65 million is available in 2022/23 to support sporting organisations across NSW with $50,000 available in each electorate and grants of up to $10,000 available for individual projects.

Female Friendly Community Sport Facilities and Lighting Upgrades Grant Program

The NSW Government has committed up to $25 million to the Female Friendly Community Sport Facilities and Lighting Upgrades Grant Program. This investment will revive sport facilities by providing new and redeveloping existing sport facility bathrooms and change rooms.

Funding will also support the provision of new and upgraded lighting that will enable more women and girls to train and compete in sport in a safe and inclusive environment.

The Centre of Excellence Fund

The Centre of Excellence Fund is a key sporting initiative of the NSW Government. The Centre of Excellence Fund is aimed at improving talent pathways and community engagement for sporting codes through the development of integrated high-performance training, administration, and community facilities.  

Up to $90 million is available to eligible applicants in round two of the Centre of Excellence Fund (2022-2023) for the construction of new or enhancement of existing Centres of Excellence.

Sport Infrastructure Recovery Fund

The Essential Community Sport Assets Program (ECSAP) is a program under the $207 million Community Local Infrastructure Recovery Package. ECSAP is a key recovery measure of the Sport Infrastructure Recovery Fund to help communities assess, repair, reconstruct and build flood resilience into those sport facilities directly damaged from the February and June 2022 floods and storms enabling normal activities to return sooner.
