[Centres] FW: Offer of a Horse

Hi all,

Wollondilly Centre received an offer of a horse but he’s a bit big for their  needs and would need a bit of work. They  thought other  Centres might perhaps be able to use him.

The following information was sent to Jill Burton by the girl who rescued him and is currently working overseas so hence the need for Tim Tam to find a forever home.

He’s a Thoroughbred Gelding and is about 10 years old. He had a short racing career due to an injury in his front fetlock.

Once he retired he was taken on by a negligent woman who treated him and about 50 other horses extremely poorly. He was starved and almost lost his life. He was rescued from that situation and is currently living on a property at Bullio in the Southern Highlands but needs s forever home.

His name is Tim Tam and he is a great horse and despite everything he’s been through still has a wonderful nature. He comes when he’s called and loves a cuddle. He is easy to wash, farrier and floats without a problem.

Timmy’s ideal home would be one with other horses, he thrives having those connections and tends to find his favourite and buddies up.

The only time Timmy would be an issue with other horses is around food, due to him being starved, he feels the need to compete- so best feed him separately.

He needs his feet done at least once a month to maintain a healthy and comfortable hoof- he had lots of issues with his feet due to mud fever and multiple abscesses that were a result of his previous living conditions.

Timmy has come a really, really long way since the day the young woman found him. The very best was done to give Tim Tam the happy and comfortable life he deserves. 

If anyone would like to take him on he is ready to go.

He has been ridden lots  by the young woman who rescued him and he has been on quite  a few trail rides. He can’t be worked too hard because he tends to pull up sore on his front foot.”

Jill  don’t know if any of our Centres would be able to take Tim Tam on but was asked to pass on his information so is  happy to help.
