[Centres] [Lifemember] Notice of AGM and Proposed Amended Constitution

Thank you Jan, totally agree with your input for, as it would seem, this new 2024 Constitution was  passed at the Heads Of Agreement meeting on December 2024.  To my knowledge, this meeting was held after 2 Centres put forward the new 2024 Constitution which, when reading correspondence, was instigated by the Working Group (WG) that, to my knowledge, does not appear in the RDA(NSW) Directory as like all other approved Committee or, some may call them ‘Group’. 

 

As it would seem the said 2024 Constitution is a completely new Constitution passed at the aforementioned Heads of Agreement meeting and, in my opinion, makes the 2024 Constitution a new document, having all Directors to stand down and, if the Centre Members ratify the said Constitution at the 2025 AGM then surely this means, that all current Directors  are able to nominate at the 2025 AGM.

 

Below are 2 questions put forward:-

1.	As noted in past correspondence, it would seem any person or group can instigate a Constitution that apparently does not need to be approved by a registered organisation prior to being put forward at an SGM and, in this case, RDA(NSW). Is this the way RDA(NSW) Centre Members wish to go?. 
2.	All approved RDA(NSW) Committees are noted in the RDA(NSW) Directory, why then is not the WG noted in the said RDA(NSW) Directory?

Morning All,

I’m a tad confused if the new constitution has been adopted by the board,pending ratification by members, then terms of appointment surely begin anew. Under the 2018 SC I would agree that the directors cannot renominate as they have served two terms, however if the 2024 SC is now in place and all Directors are standing down under the Heads of Agreement then surely this means that anyone is able to nominate at the 2025 AGM.
