HETI Strategic Plan 2024 - 2027

At the beginning of January, we published our new Strategic Plan. The main aim from the HETI EC was to, not only create achievable goals, but to also be very member focussed.

This strategic plan was written in consultation with our members through surveys, round table discussions, HETI Live meetings and communications through the office. It is by members, for members.

We are very excited to see what can be achieved over the next three years as we seek to improve EAS globally.

HETI Educational Webinars

The first HETI Educational Webinar of 2025 will be held on 30th January at 20:00 Central European Time (Paris/Brussels) with Prof. Selcuk Akpinar, a sports scientist and Dean of Sports Sciences at Nevsehir University.

What will the webinar be about?
Equine-Assisted Services (EAS) encompass therapeutic, educational, and recreational activities that utilize the horse as a partner to enhance human physical,

cognitive, psychological, and emotional well-being. Despite the growing popularity and success of EAS, optimizing its outcomes requires a systematic approach to measuring and interpreting participant progress, as well as integrating effective feedback mechanisms. This webinar will explore how feedback and measurement innovations can enhance the quality, efficiency, and outcomes of EAS.

This will be the last webinar that is free to non-HETI members.

Ann Kern Godal Memorial Fund - Applications Open!

Ann Kern-Godal’s Memorial Fund for Horse-Assisted Therapy was founded by Tore Godal in memory of his wife Ann Kern-Godal. The fund’s purpose is to promote evidence-based research into horse-assisted therapy (HAT) for different patient groups. The fund is open to international applicants.

Who can apply?

Since horse-assisted therapy is an emerging field of research, the areas the fund supports should be relatively open-ended and include at least three categories:

*	Stipend for a PhD candidate’s research into HAT, where their thesis focuses wholly or partially on HAT.

*	Stipend for a postdoctoral position dedicated wholly or partially to HAT. Exploration of new methodological procedures is considered particularly valuable.

*	Prize given to the best institution with regard to promoting HAT research.

Especially promising research projects may receive support for up to 3 years.

Submission deadline: 15th February
