Dear RDA(NSW) Life Members,

 

I totally concur with the letters written by RDA(NSW) Life Members, Jan
Pike, Maureen Turner and Bev Amery and Kerry Johnston and sincerely thank
you all for your input, it is greatly appreciated.

 

With regard to the information received re the 'Constitution Committee" it
was surprising to read that:-

*	Mr. Bruce Mansfield who was invited to be the 'independent' Chair
for the RDA(NSW) 2024 AGM, is now one of the persons noted in the
'Constitutional Committee" unless, of course, since being the 'independent'
Chair of the abovementioned AGM, Mr. Mansfield has become a Financial Member
of one of our Centres and, if so, it would be appreciated if we could be
advised the of the Minutes from that Centre.
*	Three of the Members are named as belonging to the Ballina Centre
which, at present, is under Administration by the Board of RDA(NSW) and, as
such, it is my opinion, the "Administrator' is the only person who can act
on behalf of the Ballina Centre until the Centre is taken out of
"Administration" by the Board of Directors.
*	Being the initial Hon. Secretary of the BHTT Centre appointed by the
Board of Directors in 1980 when RDA(NSW)  became incorporated, it is
disappointing to read the current  Committee of Box Hill Centre (BHTT) is
one of the Centres noted in the said "Constitutional Working Party".

 

As previous Directors of RDA(NSW), Life Members would be well aware that to
keep transparency and good governance, all Board approved Committees are
listed in the RDA(NSW) Annual Directory. The "Working Party" or
"Constitution Committee" are not noted in the said Directory.

 

RDA(NSW) Life Members will also recall at the July 2001 SGM, Resolutions 2
to 7 were put against Directors of RDA(NSW) - all Resolutions were LOST, the
majority being 10 FOR 24 AGAINST and 9 FOR 25 AGAINST.  Today, over 2
decades later, some of the aforementioned 10 Centres are named in the said
"Constitutional Committee". 

 

Since the 2020 'Pandemic' our RDA(NSW) Volunteer numbers have decreased.
Fortunately, at present, we still have approximately 1000 dedicated
Volunteers who are there to assist our amazing Riders and, still, there is
this small group (approx. 10 Volunteers), who are taking up the valuable
time and undermining the good work of our Board of Directors and possibly
causing unrest to the greater majority of our Volunteers who have
contributed so much of their valuable time over the past 50 years to ensure
our Riders do not miss out on their therapeutic/fun of horse riding
activities.

 

We can only hope that this controversial matter is coming to a head and
hopefully will be behind us in the not too distant future.
