[Centres] Where can a Centre find and confirm its Deductible Gift Recipient status?

Centre Secretaries and Treasurers.

 

State Office and I have recently received a number of requests from Centres
asking where they can find confirmation of their Deductible Gift Recipient
status as confirmation is needed in order to support an application for a
grant.

 

The information can be obtained from https://abr.business.gov.au/.  

 

Enter your Centre's ABN at the home page of that site and you will be taken
to your Centre's record for Federal tax and related matters.  This contains
not just the Centre's DGR status, but also whether your Centre is registered
for GST and the Centre's exemption status for FBT and  income tax.  

 

Note that while Centres are also exempt from Stamp Duty on insurance
policies and registration of motor vehicles and trailers, these are not
included in the ABR site records as Stamp Duty is a State tax, and separate
exemptions need to be applied for.
