Dear Centre Secretaries

Forwarding Blues eNews 2020 - 28 April newsletter from Sport NSW email below

You may like to nominate your volunteer for the 2020 NSW Community Sports
Awards

Following the first extension of the NSW Community Sports Awards
nominations, Sport NSW had feedback from many sports that an even further
extension would be helpful given the current circumstances.

With this in mind, Sport NSW have decided that the NSW Community Sports
Awards nominations will now close at midnight on Friday, 17 July 2020.

Sport NSW would like to draw attention to the Distinguished Long Service
Awards and remind everyone that this category is a great opportunity to
provide recognition to volunteers who have demonstrated service for 25 years
or more. Without the ongoing service of these people, our Centres would not
survive.

Kind Regards

Lucy Pentony

  <https://cdn.revolutionise.com.au/edm/6mmsxxmtixcicr6g.png>

During these challenging times, volunteers and organisations utilising
volunteers are experiencing many issues they have never experienced before.
NSW Volunteering are seeking responses to an online survey to help
understand the impacts COVID-19 is having on organisations, and the ways
they can help moving forward.

Responses are welcome from all kinds of NSW organisations with volunteers to
ensure a true representation of the impacts across NSW is captured.

The online survey will take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete and the
deadline for responses is 5.00pm on Friday, 1 May 2020.

To fill in the survey, please click here

Staying Active at Home

  <https://cdn.revolutionise.com.au/edm/1so3buiexseqwziq.png>

As the State remains isolated in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19,
many people are working, learning and spending all of their time at home. It
is critical that Australians are able to maintain their physical and mental
wellbeing at home, and that they are able to exercise in confined spaces
with limited resources.

Many sporting organisations and other peak bodies across the sector have
developed initiatives and shared resources to help people safely exercise in
their home. The NSW Office of Sport have compiled an extensive list of these
initiatives and resources, including Activities for Kids, Activities for
Seniors, Accessible Activities, General Fitness, Sport-Specific and much
more.

We encourage you to check out these activities by clicking here
<https://edm.revolutionise.com.au/?r=5o2tvnmxfraejxra&b=4573> . Continue to
check back for new activities that will help keep your family and you
active!
