Subject of email: ACNC Register ACTION REQUIRED  - Response required by June
21st 

 

To Centre Secretaries.  

 

The ACNC requires charities and NFP organisations to lodge their Annual
Information Statement and keep the details of the organisations'
"Responsible Persons" up to date. The ACNC has recently completed audits on
a number of the RDA (NSW) Centres.  

 

The audit found that there was no problem with the Annual Information
Statements, as they are all up to date and lodged centrally by Joe Orland.
This needs to be completed on time,  if they are not lodged by the due date
the Centres could lose their Deductible Gift Recipient Status.  

 

However, the Responsible Persons register has not been kept up to date. We
need to conduct a onetime submission and clean up of our Responsible Persons
register, and then ensure a tighter process for changes going forward.   The
ACNC has warned that we must keep the details of the Responsible Persons up
to date.  

 

What we need from you

 

*	Please find attached a spreadsheet that needs to be completed by
each Centre to include the names and details required for every Committee
member from your Centre.  You will also need to complete the Declaration
page on the last tab.
*	Check the ACNC website (acnc.gov.au) using your Centre's name or ABN
and if, under the "People" tab, it shows a Responsible Person who is no
longer a part of the Committee, complete the necessary details on the
appropriate page of the spreadsheet.  If you do not know the details being
asked on that page, please complete as many of the details as possible. 
*	To answer the question about the ASIC Register of Banned or
Disqualified Persons, you need to go to "asic.gov.au" and, under the heading
of "Search our registers" on the home page, choose the "Banned and
Disqualified" and perform the search for each Committee Member. In the
highly unlikely event that a Committee Member is stated as being a "banned
or disqualified person", let one of us know via State Office.
*	Please send your completed spreadsheet back to the State Office
email address, and cc Melanie, Cheryl and Janine. 
*	Please can you complete this by no later than June 21st, however, we
would ask you do this at your earliest convenience, as soon as possible. 
*	If you have any questions or issues with completing the spreadsheet,
please reply to State Office via email with your enquiry and one of us will
reach out to you to assist.
