2021-22 Crown Reserves Improvement Fund Program 

Applications to the 2021-22 Crown Reserve Improvement Fund program closes at 5pm AEST, Friday 25th June, 2021.

If you would like to apply for the program, act now before time runs out.  

Up to $17 million is expected to fund projects across NSW as part of this year's program.

Frequently asked questions

Can I receive an extension after the closing period?

Unfortunately, no extensions can be given.

Can user groups apply?

Yes. User groups and individuals with an interest in Crown reserves, Crown caravan and state parks, and showgrounds (including freehold) can apply. For your application to be eligible, user groups must obtain a signed letter of authority from the official Crown land manager supporting their application. Note that if successful, funding will be paid to the Crown land manager.

What can we apply for?

The CRIF funds a diverse range of activities across two categories:

1.	General development, maintenance and protection activities on any eligible reserve
2.	Pest and weed projects on Crown lands.

How much funding is available?

Successful applicants of the program in recent years have received funding ranging from $500 to $2 million. Can we get a loan?

Applications for low interest loans are strongly encouraged for amounts greater than $100,000.

What are the next steps to apply?

1.	If you are not an appointed Crown land manager, please contact the managing entity to discuss your proposal and obtain authority to apply
2.	Ensure the Crown land manager has submitted a final report for all previous CRIF funded projects
3. 4.	Source quotes or develop detailed cost estimates (as appropriate) as follows:

*	Activity elements (distinct parts of a project) less than or equal to $30,000 require at least one quote
*	Activity elements between $30,001 and $150,000 require at least three quotes
*	Activity elements greater than $150,000 require an acceptable cost estimate and a commitment (i.e. a strategy) to procurement via public tender
*	Local Councils can obtain three quotes for elements between $30,001 and $250,000 consistent with the Local Government Act 1993
*	Local Councils with activity elements greater than $250,000 require an acceptable cost estimate and a commitment (i.e. a strategy) to procurement via public tender.

5.	Submit your application online by 5pm AEST Friday 25 June 2021. No extensions can be given.
