Good afternoon,
Thank you to the 25 Centres who responded to the questionnaire. Your input
is greatly appreciated and provides a significant sample from over 70% of
the 35 Centres.
Results:
There are two attachments; a) one is a spreadsheet which includes tabs for
the number of riders, volunteers, coaches, whips and carriage drivers over
the 2019 through 2022 period. Each tab contains a graph so that we can all
see the trends. A PC or laptop would be best to look at the spreadsheet. b)
the other is a PDF with the written responses for each question, and the
Yes/No counts. I have taken some of your statements verbatum, others have
been prunned, and not all have been transferred if they were repeats already
captured.
For transparency; I will be sending PDF copies of the original responses by
the 25 Centres, these will follow this email an be marked 2nd part, 3rd
part, etc.
Next Steps:
Please read through the material and prepare for a Zoom discussion that will
be held on the week commencing Monday 14 November. More than 1 person from
each Centre is welcomed to join the meeting, but please elect only 1 person
as your spokesperson. Along with the Centres; the Board, RRs, and Board
Committees will also be in attendance.
The focus of the meeting is to discuss the results and identify "common
themes" that have emerged, that may result in strategies going forward. e.g.
The Age of current Volunteers and a desire to recruit Younger Volunteers, is
a common theme within the results. A strategy coming from that type of theme
might be something like "Effect generational change to support growth and
make RDA NSW more sustainable."
I look forward to catching up with you all on the week of the 14th November.
Regards, Ed Binney
