The Office of Sport is hosting a webinar series to assist people from the
sport and active recreation sector understand their legal obligations in
relation to reporting Child Safety concerns and to know when and how to make
a report.

The first webinar will focus on reporting to Police and will include:    

*	What are child abuse offences? 
*	Reporting obligations  
*	NSW Police role in protecting children, including: 
*	Emergency response 
*	Reporting a crime 
*	Reporting a disclosure of historical abuse 
*	Preferred reporting methods

Guest speaker background
Marco Blanco, Managing Director and Principal Solicitor of Child Safeguard
will lead the discussion. Marco is an industry leader, expert and authority
in child safeguarding, and is a regular keynote speaker at National and
State conferences. Joining him will be Detective Chief Inspector Peter
Yeomans APM. Peter Joined the NSW Police Force in 1980 and for most of his
policing career he has worked as a Detective investigating major crime,
particularly in the field of serious child physical and sexual abuse.
