The AMP Foundation Tomorrow Makers SPARK Program offers up to $20,000 in grants to individuals, teams or not-for-profits with new social enterprise ideas or those looking to scale existing operations. Closes April 9.

The NAB Foundation’s annual Community Grants program offers funding of up to $25,000 for local projects which help communities to withstand and recover from natural disasters. An additional $200,000 is available for projects with significant potential impact. Grants will support initiatives such as training, community recovery, environmental restoration and infrastructure improvements. Smaller organisations will be prioritised. Closes April 30.

The IOOF Foundation now accepts grant applications on an ongoing basis, offering funding of $10,000 to $150,000 per year for projects benefiting disadvantaged families, children and youth. It’s seeking to fund sustainable initiatives with measurable outcomes, particularly those with an early intervention focus. Access to mental health resources underpins all the foundation’s core programs. Ongoing.

Funding Centre news

Lots of new rounds and grants this month

 


March has been a bustling month for our grants team as we've been hard at work sifting through the latest updates and additions to our database.

In the past month alone, we've meticulously reviewed a whopping 1332 grants, including, 292 new rounds, presenting fresh opportunities for funding and support. A hundred and ninety of these are brand new additions to our ever-growing repository of grants.

Here's a handful of the programs that have caught our attention:

🎓 Djuyalgal Indigenous Storytellers Scholarship: The Indigenous Storytellers Scholarship, also known as the Djuyalgal Scholarship, seeks to celebrate and nurture Indigenous art and design in New South Wales, fostering creative aspirations among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals. The scholarship offers recipients financial support of up to $10,000, mentorship opportunities, and guidance from the Murrook Cultural Centre. Closes April 18.

🌱 Food Rescue Grant: The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is committed to minimising the disposal to landfills of quality food suitable for human consumption. Through the new Food Rescue Grant program, not-for-profit organisations and local councils can access funding of up to $500,000 to support initiatives aimed at diverting food waste from landfills and fostering food rescue efforts in NSW. Closes April 19.

⚽️ Federal Department of Health and Aged Care Play Our Way Program: The Play Our Way grant program targets barriers faced by women and girls in sport and physical activity.

Stream 1 focuses on facility enhancements, offering up to $136 million, while Stream 2 prioritises participation and equipment initiatives, offering up to $55.8 million to develop sustainable programs and provide culturally appropriate equipment, with grant amounts ranging from $50,000 to $1,000,000. Eligible applicants include local governments, community and sporting organisations, and not-for-profits. Closes April 29.

📚 Waratah Education Foundation Public Ancillary Fund: The Waratah Education Foundation Public Ancillary Fund aims to empower underprivileged youth by providing educational opportunities and breaking the cycle of poverty. Offering grants ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 from a $200,000 funding pool, the Foundation seeks to support frontline organisations aiding disadvantaged youth in Australia.

Eligible organisations must be not-for-profit with DGR Item 1 status and have an annual turnover of less than $1 million. Projects must directly benefit disadvantaged youth and articulate clear objectives and outcomes. Closes April 30.

🎨 NT Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities art equipment grants: Not-for-profit arts organisations in the Northern Territory can apply for funding for equipment to facilitate the production, presentation, promotion and sale of artworks by NT artists.

Applicants may apply for funding of up to $10,000 for eligible equipment, including printing tables, musical instruments, sound and lighting equipment, and furniture for artwork storage and display. Priority is given to regional and remote arts organisations and Aboriginal-owned art centres. Closes May 31.

💡 Bank SA Foundation Inspire Grant: The Inspire Grant aims to enhance the educational outcomes of children and young people facing significant barriers to reaching their potential. Grants of up to $150,000 over three years for applicants in the NT and SA and $300,000 for applicants in WA, the ACT, Queensland and NSW are available. These will support initiatives targeting participation, engagement, achievement and capacity building across priority groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, those in out-of-home care, and those experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage or residing in rural and remote communities. Not-for-profit organisations with DGR status are eligible to apply. Closes April 14.

🌳 Trees for Schools program: The Trees for Schools program, funded by the Victorian Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action and Greater Western Water, aims to enhance tree canopy cover and green spaces in schools. Victorian schools in the Greater Western Water service area can apply for up to 50 trees, creating cooler and greener school grounds in the face of climate change. Closes April 22.

🧠 MyState Foundation Partnerships: The MyState Foundation partnerships offer up to $100,000 over two years to youth-focused programs emphasising either education or social connection. These partnerships support Tasmanian youth in obtaining employment or fostering meaningful connections within their community. Eligible organisations must hold Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, be incorporated not-for-profit entities, and possess an Australian Business Number (ABN). Closes May 3.

🦘WA Government Community Stewardship Grants: The Community Stewardship Grants program offers funding for community-led environmental projects in Western Australia through two streams. The  <https://email.ourcommunity.com.au/t/r-l-tikiitjt-bjdhduksj-s/> Small Grants stream provides grants ranging from $1,000 to $50,000 for smaller-scale initiatives, while the  <https://email.ourcommunity.com.au/t/r-l-tikiitjt-bjdhduksj-g/> Large Grants stream caters to larger, more strategic projects with grants ranging from $50,001 to $450,000. Both are aimed at empowering local groups to undertake natural resource management activities. Closes May 20.

1.        Read the guidelines to ensure your eligibility

2.       Call the grantmaker to introduce yourself and confirm your eligibility

3.       Gather all the information you need for the application

4.      Create your budget

5.       Telling a compelling story about your project

6.      Check your application before submitting.

Save time, save a grant search

At the Funding Centre, we’re always trying to find new ways to make things easier for grantseekers.

That’s why we built a feature that allows grantseekers to save commonly used search filters. To use the feature, simply  <https://email.ourcommunity.com.au/t/r-l-tikiitjt-bjdhduksj-yk/> search for grants using the Funding Centre’s intuitive search filters, then click the purple “Saved Searches” button at the top of the search box. Create a name for your search (for example, “Arts grants”) and click “Done”. The next time you visit the Funding Centre website to search for grants, your search will be saved under the “Saved Searches” button. Click the search you want and it will populate the filters assigned to the saved search.
