Riding

Discover how Riding Develops Abilities

Join our riding programs at RDA (NSW): Develop skills and confidence

At RDA (NSW), we design personalised riding programs tailored to each rider’s needs and abilities. Our goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where individuals can grow, gain confidence, and achieve their personal goals—whether riding independently or competing at higher levels.

Assessment and individualised programs

All riders are assessed before starting to ensure the program suits their unique needs. For beginners, up to two trained helpers and a leader may assist during sessions. As riders gain confidence and skills, many progress to riding independently, and some even reach competition-level proficiency.

Medical clearance required

To ensure safety, riders must have consent from their doctor before starting the program. Regular updates to this medical clearance are required to continue participation.

Commitment to safety

RDA (NSW) maintains strict safety standards for all riders. These include:

  • Wearing helmets for all horse-related activities.
  • Using proper footwear (often provided by our centers).
  • Implementing additional safety measures as needed.

We occasionally use specialised equipment, but we strive to keep conditions as natural as possible. This approach helps riders develop a good riding position using their own body strength and abilities.
