Our Horses

Not just any horse!
RDA (NSW) horses are truly special. They undergo extensive training and assessment to ensure they’re perfect for our riders.
Our horses are chosen based on their wonderful temperaments for working with children and people with disabilities – they must be calm, gentle and patient.
RDA (NSW) horses come to us from diverse backgrounds and we celebrate their unique personalities and qualities. Our centres own over 160 horses and lease around 80+ horses to cater for the varying needs of our centres.
The RDA (NSW) CASP (Coaching And Safety Panel) oversee the health and welfare of our horses, as well as the training and assessments of coaches and volunteers. Our coaches and volunteers are experienced and trained horse handlers.
If you would like to discuss donating a horse please contact your local RDA (NSW) centre – we welcome donations of suitable and healthy horses!
